James P. “Jim” Franklin, 48, of Lafayette, died at 05:05 AM Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at IU Health in Lafayette. He was born March 12, 1965, in Brook, to the late Richard and Mary McKeever Franklin. Jim was a 1984 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. He attended St. Mary Cathedral. Jim enjoyed working on cars, fishing, family gatherings and being around his friends. Surviving are sons Ian and Jared Franklin of Lafayette; brothers Mike Franklin wife Becky of Lafayette, Joe Franklin wife Linda of Logansport, Carey Franklin wife Jenny of Otterbein; sister Bridget McDaniel husband Gary of Lafayette. Visitation will be 5 PM until 8 PM Friday, November 8, 2013 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Funeral services are at 10:00 AM Saturday at St. Mary Cathedral. Burial will be at a later date at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
