James L. Fassnacht, 68
STOCKWELL ? James L. Fassnacht, 68, of Stockwell, died unexpectedly at 2:56 a.m. Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Clarian Arnett Hospital.
Born June 12, 1941, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Louis and Irma Sollars Fassnacht. He served in the Army, stationed in Germany.
On Sept. 6, 1970, he married Marilyn J. Skinner Tull, and she survives.
Mr. Fassnacht worked at Tippecanoe County Highway Dept., Lafayette Parks Dept., and retired after 20 years in building services at Purdue University.
He was a member of White Horse Christian Center. He enjoyed stock car racing during the ?60s and ?70s. He also enjoyed working on anything mechanical, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid Purdue and Indianapolis Colts fan.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Karla Ahnert (husband: Mark) of Converse and Pam Wolf (husband: Mick) of Stockwell; two sons, Harold V. Tull Jr. (wife: Marsha) and Jeff Tull (wife: Trudy), both of Stockwell; a brother, Donald P. Fassnacht of Lafayette; and a sister, Donna Fassnacht Maass of Harrisburg, Pa.
He was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Maria Fassnacht and Mary Ann McDaniel.
James was loved by many. He was known best for his jolly laugh, his love of life, and his love for the Lord. His four stepchildren loved him dearly and considered him Dad.
