Sorry for your loss Sarah. Jim was a wonderful guy. I have a lot of great memories of Jim. I was the teenager on outing club trips with Mark Dave and Jim to Devils Lake for rock climbing. Jim was always pleasant and courteous. I remember Jim at the local ice cream drive-in at Baraboo doing a pull-up and swinging himself on top of the roof. We had good times at your farm bonfires and Dave’s weekend volleyball cook outs. We lost touch through the years but I was always interested in hearing about trips Mark Dave and Jim took together. He will be missed. Brad

We are thinking of the Bauer family at this difficult time. We backpacked with Jim in the early seventies when he was a young man. We made multiple trips to the Great Smoky Mountains hiking different sections of the Appalachian trail staying in the old bear proof shelters. Jim loved the Smokies. We shared many great camping stories during the long winter nights. We also did backpack trips to Big Bend National Park in Texas and The Wind River Range in Wyoming. During our years at Purdue we spend many a Sunday at Jim's farm(Granny Logan's farm then) exploring the acreage with Rodney the cat who thought he was a dog. Again we have a lot of funny stories to remember Jim by. He was a best friend and a wonderful person. He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him.

Always loved Jim’s hearty BAAAAAAAA like a Billy goat when I was a kid. I remember him helping us find Easter Eggs one Easter we spent at the farm. I especially enjoyed when he played Mexican Train with us. And the bonfires were spectacular. Boiler Up and RIP, Jim!
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
