James E.”Jimmy” Summers, 61, of Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at IU Health Arnett Hospital due to a work-related accident.

He was born November 27, 1958, in Lafayette, to Jay E. Summers Sr. and Carol L. Summers.

Jimmy attended McCutcheon High School with the class of 1977.

Jimmy worked as a Crane Operator for Crossroads Galvanizing Of Lafayette.

James enjoyed fishing, Nascar, Pittsburgh Steelers football and an avid Purdue basketball fan. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving are Son, Cory J. Summers of Lafayette, IN. granddaughter Brielle Kayleen Summers, parents Jay & Carol Summers, sisters Linda Hunley-Pruett, Barbara Patterson, Linda Lewis, Laura Nelson (Glenn Jr.) and Anjie Kerkhoff (Jerry) and several nieces and nephews.

Jimmy was preceded in death by brothers Jay Summers Jr., Victor Summers, brother-in-law Jimmie Pruett and nephew Cody York.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday March 16,2020 at Soller- Baker Funeral Home 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette.
