James A. Polley, 61, of BattleGround, IN, died Friday, November 21, 2014 at St. Elizabeth East. He was born September 20, 1953, in Chicago, IL, to the late Henry and Lois Hawkins Polley. He was a graduate of Klondike High School and Electronics school in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He had also served in the USMC as a reservist from 1971-1977. James was employed by Purdue University for over 30 years working as an electrician. On March 26, 1982 he married Teresa A. Schubach and she survives. He was a member of St Ann Catholic Church. Mr. Polley enjoyed Chicago Cubs baseball, the Chicago Bears, IU Sports and being with his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Teresa Polley, of Battle Ground, IN Daughters, Latricia Slaughter (Bradley) of Perry, FL, Angie Walker (Chris) of Columus, GA, a son, Gabe Polley of Lafayette. Grandchildren are Hunter, Marshall, Emma, Aaron, Haydon and Tyler. Brothers, Jeff Polley (Cindi) of Lafayette, John Polley (Cheryl) of Lafayette, Mike Polley (Jane) of Montery, TN, Ed Polley (Pat) of Lafayette, Dennis Polley (Barbara) of Chicago, IL; sister, Sally Eller of Cicero, IL. He is preceded in death by by his son James Bradley Polley. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10-11 am, November 25, 2014 at St. Ann Catholic Church followed by Mass at 11 am with Fr. Dominic Young officiating. The family requests that donations be made to Matthew 25 Share & Care Soup Kitchen.
