Jaletta Deloras (Alting) Goodman, 90, of Lafayette passed away on November 10, 2016 at St. Mary’s Healthcare of Lafayette. Jaletta was born in Lafayette on August 10, 1926 to the late Frank and Nancy (Watkins) Alting. She attended Lafayette Jefferson High School. She married Coy Goodman on February 3, 1945, he preceded her in death in 1991.
She retired after 38 years at Duncan Electric-Landis Gyr. She was a member of FOE Auxiliary # 347. She enjoyed bowling, golf, softball, and fishing. She loved family get-togethers and spending time with friends.
Jaletta was preceded in death by her brothers, Nuel (Mary) White, Frank (Estell) Alting Jr., John (Ruth) Alting, and her sister Betty (Floyd) Rishel.
She is survived by her brother, Harold L. (Betty) Alting; nieces and nephews, Caroline (White) Morris, Carla (White) Griego, Frank E. Alting III, Mike (Bonnie) Alting, Ron (Pam) Alting, Sandy (John) Marvin, Linda (Rick) Coons, Allen (Julie) Rishel, Karen (JR) Blosser, Kelli Alting Miner, Scott Alting, Tammy (Jeff) McCall, and Connie Marino; Great nieces and nephews include Frank Alting IV, Troy Alting, Jacquie Alting, Rockney Alting, Chad Alting, Rainey (Brian) Jones, Ron Alting Jr., Ashley Alting, Jason Marvin, Jessica Murrieta, Grant Marvin, Jason (Becky) Coons, Juston (Jody) Coons, Jeremy (Ashley) Coons, John (Cole) Rishel, Courtney Rishel, Tasha (Aaron) Fuller, Melissa Blosser, Cathy Blosser, Brittany (Justin) Hise, Kayla McCall, and Kelsey McCall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Jaletta’s name to the American Diabetes Association, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
