Irving Lee Jackson, 84, of Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly at 10:50 AM Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Indiana University Health. He was born September 6, 1928, in Lafayette, to the late Verner and Vada Jordan Jackson. He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1947, attended Purdue University and served in the United States Army. On September 23, 1955 he married Bettie Garber in Rochester. She died April 8, 2008. After serving in the Army, Irving worked at Peerless Wire, Lafayette wire, and as a building contractor with his brothers and father. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Surviving are two daughters Jane Klinker of Lafayette, Vada Jackson of Deltona, FL; four Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909 with Pastor Jason Coffman officiating. Entombment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
