Ilyff B. Schalliol

Ilyff Belle Schalliol, 93, of West Lafayette, died at 10:01 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at University Place.
Born May 8, 1917, in Gage, Okla., she was the daughter of the late George and Frances Ward Williams.
She graduated from high school in Douds, Iowa, in 1936, and from Iowa State University in 1940 with a degree in institutional management.
On Dec. 20, 1942, she married Willis L. Schalliol in West Lafayette, and he survives.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, While-A-While Social Club, and volunteered at the church thrift shop. She enjoyed quilting and knitting.
Surviving with her husband is a son, Gregory L. Schalliol (wife: Dagmar) of Oak Park, Ill.
Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, John A. Schalliol and Dennis E. Schalliol.
Visitation 1 hour prior to an 11 a.m. memorial service on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette, IN 47906, the Rev. Daniel J. I am saddened to hear of the loss of Ilyff. She was a wonderful woman and I was honored to have known her. I apologize for the the length of time it took to send this, for I just learned of her passing today, 10-24-10. I pray for your family in this difficult time, for I know how the heart suffers when you lose a loved one. I am the sec/treas.of the Schalliol Family Reunion Committee in South Bend, In. We certainly have missed these two incredibly wonderful family members in the past two years. My prayers are with you....
