Helen Treva Morgeson was called to heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to be welcomed by the loving arms of Jim her husband who preceded her in death in 1956.
Helen was born at the home of her grandmother near Henning,IL March 31,1923 to parents Samuel Dewey Scott (born June 9, 1898, and killed in automobile accident May 9, 1952) and Odessa Victoria (Misner) Scott (born June 13, 1900 and killed in a tornado in Alvin, IL on March16, 1942)
She married James Earl Morgeson (born May 4, 1920) on June 8, 1941, near Alvin, IL and he preceded her in death on July 14, 1956. Also preceded in death by her son Earl Walter Morgeson on August 27, 2007, of Celina, TX.
Also preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Cronkhite, Nashville. TN; Lillie May Frye, Crawfordsville, IN; and one brother Laurel Scott of Veedersburg, IN.
Helen attended and graduated from high school in Alvin, IL.
She began working at Purdue University in 1975 in the department of Physical Education, Health and Recreation Studies. She then transferred to the Purchasing Department until her retirement in 1988.
She loved Purdue basketball and football and also her Dallas Cowboys. She loved travelling anywhere near water, especially Michigan. And really loved watching her westerns, especially The Virginian. She was an avid word search puzzle solver.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Sandra Morgeson of Lafayette, IN with whom she made her home. She is also survived by her son, Daryl Morgeson (wife Carolyn) of Wylie, TX whom she was so proud of. Also surviving are 4 granddaughters, one grandson and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation Monday July 10, 2023, from 9am-10am service to follow at 10am at Soller-Baker Funeral Home 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909. Burial in Rossville, Illinois following the service.
