Harold W. Niccum, 77, of Lafayette, IN, died at 8:00 AM Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Rosewalk Village.
He was born July 1, 1934, in Romney, IN, to the late James and Emma Fogleman Niccum.
On August 5, 1962, he married Carolyn Hempenius in Lafayette IN and she survives.
Harold worked for Purdue University in Memorial Union as an maintenance mechanic for 36 years retiring in 1997. Harold enjoyed fishing, gardening, working in his yard and time spent with his family and friends.
Surviving are wife- Carolyn M. Niccum , Lafayette, IN; daughter- Janet Marshall husband Roger- Lafayette; Son- Harold J. Niccum wife Sheila- Lafayette; son- Michael S. Niccum- Lafayette; sister- Betty Whitteberry husband David- Middletown, IN; 6 grandchildren and 3 stepgrandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 15 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2-3pm Monday, April 2, 2012, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel Funeral Service 3pm Monday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel Rev. Dr. Ronald Wunsch officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters.
