Glenn A. Herr, 67, of Brookston, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at his home. He was born March 21, 1956, in Lafayette, IN, to the late LeRoy and Anne (Jackson) Herr.
Glenn graduated from Harrison High School and Lincoln Tech.
His first marriage was to Phoebe Krabbe and she preceded him in death. He then married Melody A. McKinsey on March 21, 2022, in Las Vegas and she survives.
Glenn owned and operated Tippecanoe Truck Service for 25 Years and was a Master Mechanic in the diesel field where he worked his entire career.
He was a member of the NRA, and an avid supporter, and benefactor to several veterans organizations including the Mary T. Klinker Veterans Resource Center; Restoring Hope in Boswell, IN, and the Eagle’s Healing Nest in Sauk Centre, MN.
Glenn enjoyed photography, fishing, hunting and shooting. He was a loving, magnanimous and amicable man with a great sense of humor, and never short on stories to tell. He was solid in good values and led by example. A role model for sure.
Surviving along with his wife is his son Michael (Melony) Dunfee of Sauk Center, MN, siblings Carolyn (Marvin) Mann, Dave (Beth) Herr, Keith (Vicky) Herr, Lydia (George) Glusko, Kenneth (Kathy) Herr and Matthew (Vicky) Herr.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Followed by a celebration of life ceremony at the VFW Post 1154. Private interment will be at St. Boniface Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Mary T. Klinker Veterans resource center; Restoring Hope, in Glenn’s memory.
