Gerald Leo Miller

Gerald “Jerry” Leo Miller, 55, of West Lafayette, died unexpectedly at 1:58 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Central.
Born April 26, 1954, in Lafayette, he was the son of Rita Vogel Miller of West Lafayette and the late Gerald F. Miller. He graduated from Benton Central in 1973.
On April 26, 1980, he married Theresa Malady in Lafayette, and she survives.
Mr. Miller was an operator with the Lafayette Street Dept. for the past 15 years. Prior to that he had worked for SIA and was a truck driver for Montmorenci Elevator.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, where he drove the soup kitchen truck for many years. He enjoyed going to car shows and spending time with his grandsons.
Surviving with his wife and mother are his daughters, Angela M. Bridges and Melissa A. Miller, both of West Lafayette; a brother, Tom Miller of Lafayette; and sisters, Karen Wright (husband: Gary) of West Lafayette, Mary Kriebel (husband: Sig) of Brookston and JoEllen Miller of Lafayette.
Also surviving are 3 grandsons, Kolten Synesael, Evan Bridges and Logan Bridges.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., with Rosary at 3:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Fr. Mike McKinley officiating. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
