Georgia Ann Pearson, 67, of Lafayette, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at St. Anthony Health Care after losing her battle with brain cancer. She was born March 21, 1946, in Lafayette to the late George and Mildred Swanson Kingma. Georgia attended Central Catholic High School and on July 6, 1968 she married Donnie G. Pearson in Otterbein and he survives. Georgia worked at Purdue University and retired after 9 years. She was known as the Sara Lee Lady at Purdue Memorial Union. Georgia enjoyed serving the students and received several awards including the Rose and Rave Awards for outstanding service. She loved fishing, camping, football, cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Georgia loved Jesus Christ and was a member of Wea Ridge Baptist Church. Surviving along with her husband are her sons Mark E. Pearson (Felicia) and Matthew A. Pearson all of Lafayette and 6 grandchildren. Also survivng are her brothers Tom Kingma (Kathy) of Brookston, Harry Kingma (Linda) of Lafayette, Fred Kingma (Dee) of Lafayette, Steve Kingma (Bretta) of Lafayette and Bill Kingma (Fairy) of Gardener, IL. Georgia was preceded in death by a son Michael, a sister Alecia, and a brother Richard. There will be a private service. Burial at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
