George Lang McCammon, 78, went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2022, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.

George was born in Sullivan on January 19, 1944, to George Baker and Rose Evelyn (Rogers) McCammon. He graduated from L&M High School and Indiana State University. On April 8, 1967, he married Karen Ann McCammon in Greencastle. She passed of cancer on November 9, 1990.  On May 22, 1993, he married Sandra Pearson Allen who was a classmate of Karen’s.

During his life, George was a Store Manager for Peoples Drugs, Hooks Pharmacy, and CVS in Indianapolis, Frankfort, Mulberry, and Lafayette.  He also worked for Link Belt, Drug Emporium, and Reliable Drugs.

George was a Master Mason for the Masonic Lodge of Mulberry in 2005.  He also was a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a Shriner and played the sousaphone in the Murat Shriners Band. George also played the accordian since he was a young boy.  In his free time, George enjoyed working in his flowers and feeding the birds. Sitting in his recliner, George could watch the hummingbirds come to the window feeder.

Along with his wife, Sandra. He is survived by his 3 children, Trinda Barocas, Steve McCammon, and Jeff McCammon; 2 grandchildren, Moira and Cory Barocas, and a great-grandchild, Luna; 3 siblings, Bill (Mary) McCammon; Zoe Ann (Steve) Dean, and Patty McCammon.  He is also survived by his 2 step-sons, Shane (Dawn) Allen, Seth (Maria) Bremmon; 5 step-grandchildren, Emilie Dropp, Kim Allen, and Robbie Allen, Elliott and Aaron Bremmon; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Karen, and a grandchild, Caitlin.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, August 18, 2022, at Christ United Methodist Church, 3610 S. 18^th St., Lafayette, IN 47909.

A Masonic Service will begin at 12:00 pm (noon), followed by a funeral service, at Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor Bruce Mowery officiating.

Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle at 2:45 pm, where a short graveside service will be held.  Friends are welcome to attend.
