George L. Dienhart

George Louis Dienhart, 97, of West Lafayette passed away Monday, January 8, 2018. He was born at home on August 2, 1920 to the late Anthony and Esther (Humphrey) Dienhart in West Lafayette.

He graduated from Klondike High School in 1938.

George married Lorna G. Washburn in 1940. They were married 47 years before her passing in 1987. He later married Freida Wilcox. They were married 29 years before her passing in 2017.

George worked as a production foreman at Fairfield Manufacturing for forty-three years before retiring.

He was a wonderful husband and father and was always there to help.

He loved camping, get togethers, and playing cards with friends. He also loved working on cars and mowing his lawn so that it was just right.

George above all else loved God with all his heart and walking his daily path with God every day. For George L. Dienhart is in the Glory of Heaven. His family and friends met him at the gate to welcome him to his heavenly home. God his heavenly Father knows George very well.

Surviving are three sons and a daughter, Lou Dienhart (Penny) of Texas, John Dienhart (Barb) of Culver, Bess Moffet (Harold) of Stockton, CA and Ray Dienhart (Diane) of West Lafayette. Also surviving is a sister, Carole Smith (Mick) of Florida along with eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.

George was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, Ralph and Gordon Dienhart and two sisters, Dorothy Zimmerman and Evelyn Frager.

Friends may call from 12 noon until the time of the service at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909. Entombment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette.
