Gene H. Davenport, 74, of Lafayette, IN, died at 2:15 PM Tuesday July 21, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born September 10, 1940, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Stanley and Betty Evans Davenport. He served in the United States Army from 1958-1961. He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1958. Gene married Peggy A. Frank and she survives. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening and being in the outdoors and time spent with his family and friends. Surviving is his Wife- Peggy A. Davenport- Lafayette Son- Ryan A. Davenport(spouse Jennifer)-Lafayette Grandson- Aizen G. Davenport- Lafayette Brother-Joseph Davenport(spouse Marlene)- Lebanon,IN. Visitation will be Sunday from 12-2pm July 26, 2015 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel followed by funeral service at 2pm. Fr. Eric Underwood officiating.
