Gary L. Hauser, 68, of Lafayette passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Seton Specialty Hospital. He was born April 25, 1946, in Parkston, SD, to the late Leonard and Vivian Thompson Hauser. Gary L. Hauser, 68, of Lafayette passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Seton Specialty Hospital. He was born April 25, 1946, in Parkston, SD, to the late Leonard and Vivian Thompson Hauser. On June 12, 1965 he married Sandie Krueger in Tripp, SD and she survives. Gary was an Insurance Agent with Farmers Insurance Group for 25 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of First Christian Church where he served as an Elder. Gary served on the Core Committee to launch and grow the Southside First Christian Church Campus. He also was a member of the American Legion Post #11 and enjoyed woodworking and Camping. Gary loved traveling with family to watch his grandchildren show horses. Surviving along with his wife is his son Jeffrey G. Hauser (Nichole) of Pine Village, grandsons J. Cole and Klay Hauser, a brother Kurt Hauser (Carrie) of Yankton, SD, step father Al Solay of Yankton, SD and a step Brother Kurt Solay of Rapid City, SD. Gary was preceded in death by a son Jimmy, a daughter Barbara and a step brother Dennis Solay. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday at First Christian Church, Revs. Greg and Nancy Eberhard officiating. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Those wishing may contribute in Gary's memory to the First Christian Church.
