Fray Owen Reser, 93, formerly of Lafayette, died at 7:50 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at St. Paul?s Sanctuary in South Bend.
Born Sept. 30, 1917, in Russiaville, he was the son of the late Fray and Sylvia Crawford Reser. He graduated from New London High School.
On March 5, 1938, he married Beulah Phillips in New London, and she survives.
Mr. Reser was a supervisor machinist for Eli Lilly for 30 years, retiring in 1981. He formerly worked for the Nickel Plate Railroad in Frankfort and farmed.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Patricia Buck (husband: Dr. Richard Buck) of South Bend; a brother, David Reser (wife: Betty) of Russiaville; and two sisters, Virginia Butcher of Branson, Mo., and Barbara Hatfield (husband: William) of South Bend.
Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Dr. Gregory Buck (wife: Kathy) of Bremen and Paige Keltz (husband: Denny) of Osceola; and 6 great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Reser.
Visitation will be 2 hours priors to a 1 p.m. service on Thursday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Interment at Russiaville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charity of choice.

Dear Beulah, Dick, Pat and family,

John and I send our thoughts and prayers to you. We have been traveling for two months and are visiting our daughter and her family in California for the month of October. I read the Journal and courier on line and see current news from Lafayette.

I will let Rosemary know of Fray&s passing. Many good memories come from the times she spent with cousins.
The Reser reunion was how I got to know the family so well. Although Rosemary is not able to be very physically funtional, she has her great sense of humor and a sharp mind.
