Frederick L. “Fritz” Dienhart, 85, of West Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus in West Lafayette.
He was born October 25, 1940, in Lafayette to the late Frederick H. “Fritz” and Gladys L. (Small) Dienhart. He was a graduate of West Lafayette High School and continued his education at Purdue University receiving his Bachelors’ Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. On February 15, 1958, he married Mary Ellen Patterson. Mary Ellen preceded him in death on January 22, 1990. Fritz worked as a pharmacist for over 22 years, first as a retail pharmacist, then for a pharmaceutical drug company and finally returning to retail pharmacy before his retirement.
Fritz was a member of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in West Lafayette as well as the Kiwanis Club, and the Pharmacy Association.
An avid sportsman throughout his life, he stayed fit playing softball, racquet ball, football, and basketball. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his 3 sons, Mark C. Dienhart of West Lafayette, Greg L. Dienhart of Lafayette, and Peter J. Dienhart of West Lafayette; a brother, Gary Dienhart; grandchildren, Ryan, Lisa, Austin, Tascha, Josh, Amanda, and Missy; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Fritz was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Dienhart; and his parents, Frederick H. and Gladys L. Dienhart; his daughter, Rebecca Ann Dienhart; and a brother, Robert Dienhart.

Visitation will be from 10:30 am until time of service at 11:30 am, Friday, October 16, 2026, at Soller-Baker, West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette, IN 47906.
Interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum, 1718 W. 350 N., West Lafayette, IN 47906.
