Fred Wyatt Quillin died July 18, 2023, at Mulberry Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Mulberry, Indiana.
Fred was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana on May 29, 1931, to Edward Swank Quillin and Lucille Ruth Tatlock Quillin. They, along with his sister, Phyllis Horner, preceded him in death.
Fred graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1949. He enjoyed attending his class reunions, all the way up to the 70th reunion in 2019.
Fred served in the United States Air Force and was proud to be a Korean War Veteran. He was active in the American Legion in Crawfordsville and Darlington. He was a member of VFW. Following his service, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service and later had a career with the Indiana State Board of Animal Health.
Fred’s great loves in life were horses, harness racing and the many friends he made through horse racing. He owned many horses, racing at various tracks throughout the Midwest. He owned Lola’s Girl when she was named the Indiana Standardbred Association Trotter of the year in 1997.
There will be no services. Interment will be at Oak Hill Grant Avenue Cemetery in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
