The Dobbelstein Family left a message on October 30, 2011:
To Nonna, Mamma, Uncle Berto, and all the rest of my family:

Nonno would be so proud of all the things that you have accomplished over the last 6 months. Thank you for taking good care of a good man. Thank you for ensuring that his passing from this life onto the next was easy and painless. I wish I could ask what Nonno is doing now, what does he see, how does he feel, and I know that he would love to share it with all of us. Every time I see a tree blow in the wind or a leaf fall on water, I will remember him. I will always think of him. It was an honor and pleasure being his granddaughter.

I love you, Nonna. Thank you for loving your husband and children and your childrens& children and their children, too.

Uncle Berto, thank you for taking over the reins of patriach with kindness and graciousness.

Mamma, thank you for being an outstanding daughter to your father. He had great expectations, and in my opinion, you have exceeded ALL of them and in the meantime brought forth three daughters with six grandchildren, whole new families where there once were none. I love you.

We love you, Mr. Nonno.

With admiration and respect,

Monica, Christopher and Beatrice Dobbelstein
