Fern R. Crandall Martin, of Lafayette, died at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at Clarian Arnett Hospital.
She was born in Mt. Carmel, Ill., and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sy Crandall.
On March 23, 1962, she married Jerry L. Martin in Delphi, and he survives.
Mrs. Martin was a member of St. Mary Cathedral, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed dancing, word search puzzles and spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren?s sports activities.
Surviving with the husband are two sons, Jeffrey P. Martin (wife: Sherry) and Doug M. Martin( wife: Kristy), both of Lafayette.
Also surviving four grandchildren, Tanner, Aaron, Stephanie and Sydney, and a stepgranddaughter, Kaylee. Preceded in death by 2 brothers, Adam Crandall and Merle Gibson.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Cathedral, Fr. Daniel Gartland officiating. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. Those wishing may contribute to the American Diabetes Association.
