Eva R. Hemmig, 68, of Lafayette passed away Friday, November 29, 2013, at St. Elizabeth East. She was born April 10, 1945, in Lafayette to the late Vernie and Shirley Unger Gipson. Eva was a 1963 graduate of Dayton High School and on November 8, 1967 she married Don Hemmig in Dayton and he survives. Mrs. Hemmig worked at the US Post Office and is retired. She had formerly worked for Indiana Bell and then GTE. She was a member of Stockwell United Methodist and enjoyed horse back riding, playing the piano, knitting and spending time with her friends and family. Surviving along with her husband are her children Tony R. Hemmig wife Dawn of Delphi, Andrea L. Walker husband Aaron of Lafayette, grandchildren Heather, Kayle, Jimmy, Mitch and Ryan and great grandchildren Khloe and Liam. Also surviving are brothers Bill Gipson of West Lafayette, Dale Gipson wife Micki of Lafayette, John Gipson wife Judy of Clarks Hill, sisters Verna Mann of Lafayette Bonnie Phillips of West Lafayette and Ida Reese of NV. Eva was preceded in death by brothers Jim and Charlie Gipson, sisters Marjorie Gipson, June Siler and Suzie Gipson. Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of service at 1 PM Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Stockwell United Methodist Church, Rev. Mark Berg officiating. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Those wishing may contribute in Eva's memory to a charity of choice.
