DAYTON ? Esther Louise Roberts, 85, of Dayton, died at 8:23 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Bickford Cottage.
Born Feb. 16, 1925, in Washington, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Ari and Exie Mullis Fields. She graduated from Washington High School and had lived in Dayton since 1957.
On Nov. 7, 1942, she married Victor J. Roberts in St. Louis, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 2004.
Mrs. Roberts was a member of Dayton United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Ruth Circle and Sheffield Extension Homemakers.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are a son, Darrel D. Roberts (wife: Sandy) of Lafayette; and a daughter, Judith K. Spence (husband: Jim) of Hobart.
Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, Matthew Spence, Mark Spence, Jimmy Spence, Carin McClellan, Cathy VanPelt, Tim Roberts, Mary Beth Quick, Heidi Fordham and Brian Roberts; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, Victor D. Roberts; and 6 brothers.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service 10 a.m. Monday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Chaplain Beth Moore officiating. Interment at Wyandotte Cemetery. Those wishing may contribute to the Alzheimer?s Association.
