Estephania Ann Higareda, 17, of Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly at 1:36 pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis due to injuries sustained in an auto accident.

She was born July 3, 2006, in Lafayette to Israel and Tiffany (Egan) Higareda.

Estefania was sweet and cared for people, especially those who were mistreated, she would without a thought speak up for those she loved deeply. She could also have an attitude like no other, she was a fighter and never gave up. Estefania was an artist and loved writing poems to express herself. She loved her Mexican culture, especially the music, but most of all she loved her family and Jesus. She enjoyed spending time with her best friend and boyfriend. She liked getting her nails and lashes done, getting dressed up and doing her makeup. She liked everything clean and orderly, and never had dirty laundry, she did a load every day. She was helpful around the house, always helping her mother clean the kitchen and helping her sister keep her room clean.

Estefania is survived by her parents, Israel and Tiffany Higareda, a sister, Abagale and brothers, Adrian, Joell, Santos and Moses.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Victory Christian Center, 325 Burnetts Rd. West Lafayette, IN 47906. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Lafayette.

I'm so very sorry to hear about Steph she was a beautiful girl and she got me through my middle school years she saved my life actually. I remember in 7th grade I was going through a lot and she was always the first person there no matter what but then I moved away. I just got back into contact with her and this really breaks my heart and I'm so sorry for your loss prayers to all. She was one of a kind and will always be in my heart ❤️?

I met stef in the 8th grade in middle school. She was one of the most caring, kindest, and genuine souls I had ever met. She let others bring her down and she brightened the days of others and the rooms she walked in. Her kind and loving heart will always be remembered. LLE ?️

You will be missed by many and made so many people happy in your short life. But, we can rejoice in knowing that you are walking on streets of gold with our Lord Jesus Christ. I wish I could have met such a blessing as you in this life.

I’ve known Steph since 8th grade , she was one of the dopest person I’ve met. We’d sometimes bump into each other in the gym and their was never a time where I didn’t see her focus. she was awesome. She was a fighter , it always seemed like if she wanted something she won’t stop until she succeeded it. rest in paradise Estephania ?

We weren’t as close as I am with her cousin, but she still proceeded to give me a smile, a hug, and have a conversation with me whenever she saw me. Estefania had a good heart, and a kind soul, even to those who didn’t know her. May she rest in peace.

One thing above all else that Stef had was spirit. She was certainly her own main character and yet felt comfortable being the side character for others when necessary. She knew how to be compassionate, outstanding, and extremely blissful. Even so now, I applaud her for knowing who she was and being who she was to others. You’ll be missed Stef. I will honor your memory to the best of my abilities. Thank you for letting me know you.

We went to Blaze together. I hung out w you & your brothers & sister & cousins. Wish we couldve gotten closer but i thank God for the gift of being able to meet you & am eternally grateful for the time i did spend w you. You were very kind & the angels are lucky to have you now. She was and always will be a beautiful angel, she never let anyone feel like an outsider. She alongside her sister , made everyone feel welcomed and had a good time , putting smiles on everyone’s faces. She never failed to offer her things when you were in need of something. She loved to share. She loved to sing and dance until she couldn’t anymore. Making TikTok videos dancing together with Abby and watching them later on laughing at how funny we looked. She was an amazing joy to be around and I know God has a beautiful journey for her by his side ?

My heart is broken for your family. She was such a spunky, strong willed, kind, loving, young lady every time I saw her . Although I asked her each time I saw her how to pronounce her name for me just one more time, she would just laugh and smile and help me with the pronunciation. She is one gal I enjoyed talking to and her smile was unforgettable. Rest in Peace Estefania, I will never forget you . Prayers for the Higarada family.
