Lynne Ream, 82, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026 at Clinton House in Frankfort, IN. A beloved mother, grandmother, friend, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ. Lynne lived a life marked by love, creativity, service, and devotion to her family and faith.
Lynne was born on February 17, 1944, in Thorntown, IN to the late Raymond and Ruth (Boyer) Lister while her father was serving his country during World War II. She was raised in Thorntown and graduated from Thorntown High School in 1962.
Following high school, Lynne attended beauty school in Indianapolis. After graduating, she opened her own beauty shop, where her talent, warmth, and dedication quickly made her business successful. Her clients became lifelong friends and her shop flourished for many years.
On January 25, 1964, Lynne married the love of her life, Donald M. Ream in Frankfort, IN. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, faith and family. Lynne delighted in sharing the story of how she and Don met and never missed an opportunity to speak of the deep love they shared.
Lynne was truly a renaissance woman. Gifted with remarkable creativity and talents, she could transform simple materials into beautiful works of art. She enjoyed playing the piano, woodworking, painting, sewing, crochet, crafting and creating stunning stained-glass windows. Whatever project she undertook, she approached it with skill, passion, and an eye for beauty.
In 1968, Lynne joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ, was the foundation of her life. She faithfully served in numerous church callings throughout the years and dedicated herself to helping others grow in faith. One of her treasured opportunities was serving a nine-month genealogy mission, enabling others to discover and connect with their family histories.
Lynne had a heart for service and never hesitated to help those in need. She never met a stranger and had a unique gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Whether offering a listening ear, a helping hand, or words of encouragement, she was always there for others.
Christmas was Lynne’s favorite season. her home became a magical wonderland filled with Christmas trees in every room, garland and lights draped around every doorway, and twinkling lights throughout the house. She found great joy in celebrating the season and creating cherished memories for her family.
Above all else, Lynne loved her family fiercely. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose love and influence will continue to be felt for generations.
Lynne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don; her parents Raymond and Ruth Lister, her brothers Francis and Stephen Lister; and her sister Jackie Randall.
She is survived by her children Craig (Gigi) Ream and Nicole (William) Roberts, both of Lafayette, IN and Jared (Michelle Gengler) Ream of Snohomish, WA; her grandchildren, Logan and Arthur Ream, Katelyn Crayner, Spencer and Jordan Roberts, Justin, Colton and Colby Ream, great-grandchildren Thomas and Henry Crayner; along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will miss her dearly.
Interment will take place at Clarks Hill Cemetery in Clarks Hill, IN.
Though her hands created beautiful things, it was the love she shared, the faith she lived, and the lives she touched that became her greatest masterpiece. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved Don and is now resting in the presence of the Savior she loved so dearly.
