Edwin M. Stephenson, 86, of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Franciscan Health Lafayette.  He was born November 22, 1937, in Bloomington, IN, to the late Edwin and Anetta (Whisnard) Stephenson.

Edwin attended Bloomington South High School and served in the Army Reserve.

On May 11, 1958, he married Judy Butz in Lafayette, and she preceded him in death on February 25, 2023.

Edwin worked for Fauber/Milestone Construction for 35 years and at the time of his retirement in 2000, he was Highway Superintendent.

He was a member of Laborers Local 274, Past Master and Secretary of Masonic Lodge #313 in Battle Ground, Murat Temple, Tippecanoe Shrine Club and Scottish Rite.

Surviving is his son Jerry W. (Debra) Stephenson of Lafayette, granddaughter Samantha (Joshua) Jenkins of Stockwell, IN and a great-grandson Christopher Jenkins.

Edwin was preceded in death by sons Terry J. Stephenson, Edwin M. Stephenson II.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Rev. Joseph Park Jr. officiating. Masonic service will be at 10:45 am on Thursday.  Private interment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette, IN.
