Edward L. Butler Sr., 77, of West Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Heritage Health Care in West Lafayette.  He was born May 30, 1949, in Lafayette, Indiana, to the late Harley and Violet (Lockard) Butler.  Edward graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1967 and served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970.  He worked for many years in the Sears Automotive Department and later at Subaru of Indiana Automotive.

Surviving are his sons, Edward L. (Karen) Butler Jr. of West Lafayette and James P. Butler of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are his siblings, Laura (Dennis) Fisher, Linda (John) Baker, and Harley (Judy)Butler.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, 1718 W. 350 N., West Lafayette, Indiana.
