Edward Franklin Queen, Sr. of Dayton, Indiana passed away December 17, 2023, in Lafayette.
Ed was born February 4, 1951, to Henry and Louella Queen in Williamson, West Virginia. He grew up in West Virginia and graduated in 1969 from Vinson High School in Huntington, WV. Ed went on to study Civil Engineering at Marshall University.
Ed married Beryle Worls December 18, 1971, and eventually became the father of seven children. Ed and Beryle have 18 grandchildren and three step grandchildren. In 1977, Ed was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his family were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Washington, DC Temple. Ed was an active member of the Church when his health permitted and was ordained a High Priest in 2002.
Ed’s career in Civil Engineering led him and his family to move to Dayton, Indiana in July 1987. Time outside work was spent on hobbies and memorable family trips. Ed enjoyed the outdoors by cycling, hiking, and camping. The whole family enjoyed numerous trips to West Virginia to visit family and winter trips to Florida.
Ed was preceded in passing by his father and mother, Henry Caleb and Louella Queen, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donna and John Worls, as well as his brother-in-law, Anthony Worls. He is survived by his wife, Beryle, his children, Anna Drake (Jeff) of Cincinnati, OH, Aubrey Clayton (Brad), Edward Queen, Jr. (Kelly), Liz Woodyard (Ashante), and Becca DeMar (Queen) all of Lafayette, IN, Ben Queen (Audra) of Jacksonville, FL, and Rachael Queen Link (Haylee) of Dayton, IN. He is also survived by all his grandchildren as well as his siblings, Ingrid Ellers (Joseph), Margaret Campbell (Allen) both of Greenfield, IN, Marsha Queen of Greenwood, IN, Hank Queen (Kim) of Bend, OR, and Rush Queen (Diane) of Enumclaw, WA.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3430 E 450 S, Lafayette, Indiana. Service will be at 3:30 pm on Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints.
