Edith Beatrice Halverson, 86, of West Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at the Indiana Veterans Home.

She was born December 6, 1936, in Detroit, MI, to the late Everette and Rose (Reed) Anderson.

In 1988, she married Bruce Haverson. He preceded her in death in 2006.

Edith earned her degree in nursing and worked as a nurse in the OB/GYN dept for over 20 years at Tipton Hospital. After leaving Tipton she continued to be a caretaker.

Edith enjoyed watching sports and was an avid IU Fan, collecting marbles, spending time with children, and walking.

Surviving are children, Cheryl Lane, Mickey L. Wood and Lee Anne Oliveri. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Iassac, RJ, Derrick, Asia, Carolyn, Chyna, Michael and Willow and great grandchildren, Michael, Renni and Archer. Edith had a sister and two brothers.

Edith was preceded in death by Father, Everette Anderson, Mother, Rose Anderson.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer Association.
