My sincere condolences for Dustin. Dustin always encouraged me in my endeavors to be an assistive technology and occupational therapy consultant. He encouraged me to present to the Arizona Telemedicine Program in Dec 2021 with other colleagues Ken Smith II of NextGenAT and William Medina for smart home devices. I was thinking about buying his company Disability Cocoon. He will always be remembered as a bright and shining light that is welcoming positive change for the disability community. I will surely miss him!

I received a call this evening from Sheila Lucas telling me of Dustin’s passing. I just need to let you know his bright light will continue to light the way for many people with disabilities and their families, including mine. Dustin came to Colorado on many occasions and Instantly supported our efforts on the Western Slope at our Families at the Forefront of Technology Conferences in Aspen and Glenwood Springs. Early on he supported my daughter Mikelle’s The Shining Beautiful Series podcast in its first season by being one of her first guests. It was a great episode! When we spoke he always mentioned his family with love and enthusiasm. My family sends you all love and gratitude during this time. I am so saddened to hear of the loss of Dustin. He always showed such generosity, warmth and good-will toward me and my company as we started out. His sincere willingness to help colleagues in the field was truly unique, and showed his deep dedication to his wonderful work in the field. He will be missed deeply.

This is just devastating. Dustin was a wonderful, enthusiastic, and empathetic person. I recall working with him when he was at rest Assured and he was always available and I never saw him in a bad mood. Dustin will truly be missed.

My heart is broken for Dustin's family, he was a mentor, an inspiration, he made an impact in my girls' lives from across the country because he cared and took the time to help us ensure their future is better.

To the entire Wright Family, Thank you for sharing Dustin with us , he brought a real brightness to our Family , his nature , his kind heartfelt love to us was warming and comforting. Dustin was always willing to help anyone and be there for you if needed… we want you all to know that we are their for all of you just as he was for us and so many others. He is in heaven right now looking down able to hug us all at the same time and as he holds us all he looks at us with that wonderful smile.

News of Dustin's death has sent a shockwave through the community of people who have worked with him - it does not seem possible. It's a blanket of sadness. Dustin touched so many lives through his work and enthusiasm for helping those in the I/DD world, it was hard to not be drawn to him. He certainly left a footprint on our hearts and minds and he will not be forgotten. Our prayers are with his family, friends and coworkers and all of the people he has impacted. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.”

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the family during this time. I have many fun memories growing up with Dustin and Matt, and very thankful for having him as a small part of my life. I’m truly sorry for your loss. May God Bless you and give you peace.

I had the privilege of knowing Dustin through his time an an exhibitor with ANCOR. He was the ultimate professional and graciously and generously shared his knowledge regarding the disability field to anyone who needed it. He was very comfortable addressing an audience to make them aware of the the newest tools available to them -- and didn't hesitate to mention his competition if he felt they had an edge in a specific area. My heart goes out to his family, and all those who knew him, over the tremendous loss of Dustin. May he Rest In Peace.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Dustin's passing. Dustin was an incredible man with incredible talents. It is impossible to express how saddened we were to hear of Dustin's death. I was both a colleague and client of his so had a unique connection to him. My husband Jamie and I were unique clients of Rest Assured and wanted to use it differently than the traditional model. Dustin was completely open to it - actually eager to try something different. Jamie suggested that we use FaceTime to walk he and a tech staff through our condo to show them how we thought the cameras and other tech could be set up. It was obvious that Dustin was deeply committed to Rest Assured being a high-quality product/service that brought real change to people's lives which for us it did. As a colleague, whenever I saw Dustin at meetings and asked about his family (I worked with his wife, Nancy, as well), his face just lit up. It was obvious how much he loved being a husband and dad. We extend our deepest sympathies to Nancy and family.

Dustin provided so much guidance and expertise to Opportunities for Positive Growth, Inc. over the years. We are forever grateful for his partnership, his innovative thinking, and passion for direct supports and people served. There are so many wonderful stories to share he touched do many lives. When he tested Rest Assured he asked me to meet with the first folks using it. He asked one man what he thought and he said “the man in the wall (monitor mounted in wall) is nice. Does not boss me around!” I had planned to be there Saturday but tested positive for Covid last night so will be there in spirit

Dustin was a very kind caring person, his smile brought warmth at every greeting we had. Jorie & Mavrick loved him dearly. They have great memories of spending so much time with Dustin in your home growing up. The shock and sadness of his passing was was very difficult for our family as well. On almost every call I had with Dustin, he talked about his family. I could tell from early on that he was a family man with a huge heart. One day, while I was mid-sentence (on our frequent zoom calls), he whipped out a piece of art his daughter drew to show me. He was so proud of her and her artistic abilities... he said she'd kill him if she knew he showed me the drawing. (I am smiling, thinking back to that moment.) Everyone will miss Dustin; I am very grateful for the time we spent together and the spark he put into the I/DD services world. His legacy and work will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he inspired.

Dustin was a colleague of mine and many others at Night Owl. I had the pleasure to work with him on many projects throughout the years. Dustin was an amazing person and leader. We were so lucky to benefit from his advocacy and vision. He will be so missed. My prayers for his family and countless friends.

What a terrible loss for you, his family and for the disability support services industry. I worked with Dustin since 2006 when we proposed our first technology pilot. Over the years I had the honor of presenting alongside him countless times around the country for all kinds of different audiences. Though we were competitors, when he was with Rest Assured, we collaborated on many efforts to advance technology use nationally and I considered him a friend as well as a colleague. I believe he truly was THE preeminent national leader in promoting the use of technology for people with disabilities. I can honestly say that I have never worked with a more professional, respectful, fun, humble and true leader than Dustin, and I've had the honor of working with some truly amazing people. The industry and everyone who knew him will miss him terribly. Dustin started so many great initiatives that will live on and have forever changed the way we are able to support people with disabilities. He has left his mark on the field and will be remembered and honored for his many contributions well into the future.

We are so sorry to hear the sad news of Dustin's passing. He was such a supportive presence to our remote supports staff and program at Waban in Sanford, Maine. I had the pleasure of getting to know Dustin a bit more just a few weeks ago as we shared a presentation to our state association. He was genuine, warm and will be missed by many of us here. It was a privilege to work with him and please accept our deepest sympathy.

So saddened by Dustin’s death. As so many others have said- he was a true champion and a visionary in the power of technology to support those with “ differing abilities” to lead much more independent lives. He has made such an impact on so many, from Colorado where we first connected, to so many other states as he shared his passion for technology first. He was kind and compassionate and loved his family. I never saw his artwork, wish I had. I smiled at the description of him coaching soccer, and no doubt he did it well! Rest In Peace dear friend and may your family find some comfort with these memories shared by so many friends.

On behalf of the Richland County Board of Developmental Disabilities we would like to send our prayers and condolences to Dustin's wife, children, family and friends during the sad and very difficult time. Dustin was a true leader on the assistive technology front and personally assisted us with writing a grant, purchasing equipment and setting up our remote supports room. We not only appreciated his forward thinking processes but also his advocacy for those that we serve and maintaining their dignity.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dustin while working with the District on Technology for people with disabilities. He was a shinning light and joy to work with. From the limited time we worked together, we were struck immediately by his passion and committment to people with disabilities. He will be dearly missed but not forgotten.

Dustin had such passion, and was such an inspiration that past-tense words like 'was' just don't fit. He inspired countless individuals in enabling tech, vast numbers of providers in the IDD field, parents, loved ones, and the individuals that we all serve. Dustin was so full of joy and light. I am praying for his family and friends to bear this terrible and untimely loss. I respected Dustin's work and family ethic. He was an integral part of our team at NextGenAT. It will be hard to move on without him but we will work hard to make sure that his entrepreneurial spirit will continue and that the services he envisioned to make the IDD world a better place shall be delivered.
