Dorothy L. Witty, 88, of Lafayette, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 at her residence. She was born May 30, 1925, in Lafayette, to the late Thomas and Susan Roth Cavanaugh. Dorothy married Gordon Witty on January 15, 1946 in Lafayette and he preceded her in death. Surviving is her sister Joann E. Weida (Fletch) of Lafayette and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister Catherine Gilbert and brothers Robert J. Cavanaugh, Thomas J. Cavanaugh and Earl V. Cavanaugh. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to a 2:00 PM service Wednesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann's soup Kitchen.
