Dorcas Ayodele Thomas-Coker, 75, of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, to Emeric and Phebean Thomas, Dorcas attended the Annie Walsh Memorial School and later graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University.
Dorcas worked at Siemens and later at Purdue University until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling, cooking, and bowling.
Surviving her are her husband, Frederic Coker, of Lafayette, sons, grandchildren, and sisters; relatives including Coker, Thomas, Rev. Leonora Walterson-Davies, Eke, Vann, Thorpe, Hartley, Gbetuwa, Macauley, Coulson, During, Forster, Williams, and Baldwin families; and several close friends including the Tolen and Schneidau families.
Funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in West Lafayette on March 28, 2026, with visitation at 12pm and service to follow at 1pm.
