Donna M. Chatfield, 95, of Lafayette passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at St. Mary Health Care.  She was born on November 3, 1921 in Charleston, IL to the late Clarence Wickham and Cora (Elam) Wickham Shoaf. In 1939, she married Howard L. Chatfield in Frankfort and he preceded her in death on September 21, 1995.

Donna worked in the Shoe Department at JC Penney Department Store for 21 years.  She was a member the Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed antiquing, flea markets and wintering in Arizona with her husband, Howard.

Surviving are her daughters Judith Benedict (Richard) of Lafayette, Marilyn Barefoot (Thomas) of West Lafayette, grandchildren Bick Benedict, Lauren Benedict Haddad-Schuh, Dana Crockett, Jodie Claiborne, Craig Chatfield, Summer and Chelsea Barefoot, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Also surviving is her sister Beulah Duvall of Lafayette.  Donna was preceded in death by her son Ronald H. Chatfield, great grandson Chad Smith and 6 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Thursday, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.  Memorial contributions may be made to Lafayette Urban Ministry in Donna’s memory.
