Donna Marie Adams, 84, of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at IU Health Arnett Hospital.
She was born February 21, 1939, in Knox, IN, to the late Martin and Martha Eckert Coffin.
Donna graduated from Reynolds High School in 1957 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
She was a proud veteran of the Marines and was honorably discharged in 1960 as a corporal.
On August 28, 1959, she married Abel Dexter Pierson in Cherry Point, North Carolina and they later divorced on March 27, 1963. On April 7, 1963, she married Roy Elmer Gokey and they later divorced on August 6, 1979. On July 4, 1987, she married Charles B. Adams Sr. and he later passed on May 14, 1999.
Donna worked was District Supervisor of Operations for United States Post Office for 37 years.
She was a proactive member of First Christian Church where she attended services, assisted with funeral dinners and was active in the CWF- Christian Women’s Fellowship.
She was also a member of the 40/8 Voiture and the American Legion Post 11 where she was awarded Marine of the Year.
Donna most enjoyed doing things for others to include cooking, making blankets, and any craft needed.
Surviving are daughter, Leslie (Husband Franklin) Decker of Lafayette, IN, brother, Dennis Coffin of Reynolds. Grandchildren, Alexis and Madison Bradshaw of Lafayette, Rebecca M. Vega and Jacob Pierson. Great-grandchildren Hailea Vega, Marquise Floyd, Sagen Pierson, Beaux Pierson and Braxton Pierson.
Donna was preceded in death by sister, Barbara Sjoblom, Brother-in-law Michael Sjoblom; Son, Karl Pierson; Great-Grandson Andrew L. Vega Jr.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 11:30 on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, followed by service at 11:30. Interment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens West Lafayette, IN.
