Donald W. Reuzenaar

Donald W. Reuzenaar, 48, of 233 N. Wilmington Lane, died at 6:03 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, as a result of an auto accident in Lafayette.
Born Oct. 12, 1961, in Lafayette, he graduated from Jefferson High School in 1979. He received a degree in computer engineering from Purdue University in 1997. His father, James Reuzenaar, died in 2005. His mother and stepfather, Sharon and John Sandefur, survive.
Mr. Reuzenaar was a design engineer with Caterpillar from 1997 until 2009. At the time of his death, he was employed by the Lafayette School Corp.
He married Donna J. Ross in Lafayette in 1989. She is a homemaker.
His hobbies were computers, fishing and bowling.
Surviving besides his wife, mother and stepfather, are a son, Donald Wayne Reuzenaar; two sisters, Roxanne Owens and Rhonda Reuzenaar; and a stepdaughter, Julie Jones.
Also surviving are a niece, Misty Allen, and a nephew, Dustin Barker.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. With a funeral service at 10 am Monday February 22, 2010 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Interment at St. Boniface Cemetery with Father Ambrose Ziegler and Pastor Randall Glenn officiating. Memorials to American Lung Association.

Donna,

I am very sorry for your loss. Don and I worked together at Lafayette School Corporation. He was great to work with and I was very glad to have him as part of our team. Though his time with us was brief, he did leave an impression on us, and we all miss him tremendously. I was able to make it to both the visitation and the funeral service, and I apologize for not getting a chance to speak to you in person and express my condolences. It was good to see that you have strong support from your family. If there is ever anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to ask.

My prayers and sincere condolences to family and friends,

I worked with Don in the Technology Department at Lafayette School Corporation. I did not know him well since he had just hired in last month. He seemed very knowledgeable and dedicated to his work though.

There is nothing one can say to make it easier. Take one breath at a time, then one step at a time, and finally, one day at a time. Time does not heal all wounds. But, time will make it easier to deal with your profound loss.
