Donald G. Duncan, 62
FRANKFORT ? Donald G. Duncan, 62, a former Lafayette resident, died at 6:40 a.m. Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at St. Vincent Hospital, Frankfort.
Born May 14, 1947, in Williamson County, Ill., he was the son of the late Orville Lloyd and Edna Lorraine Duncan, and graduated from Goreville (Ill.) High School.
His marriage was to Cheri Hendrickson on Oct. 3, 1966, in Ozark, Ill., and she survives.
Mr. Duncan was an Army veteran. He was an independent construction contractor and a KEHE Foods vendor for Meijer. He attended God?s House of Worship in Lafayette, enjoyed working, spending time with his family, gardening, and the St. Louis Cardinals and Fighting Illini sports.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Gena Bailey (husband: Clint) of Frankfort and Jennifer Spray (husband: Kevin) of Goldsmith; a son, Jeremy Duncan (fiancé: Brittany Quade) of Lafayette; and four brothers, Thomas Dale Duncan of Goreville, Harold Lloyd Duncan and Larry Joe Duncan (wife: Jeanette), both of Marion, Ill., and Jerry Lee Duncan (wife: Margie) of Hammond.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Alexis and Celina Ray of Frankfort and Dylan Spray of Goldsmith.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, with service there, 1 p.m. Tuesday. Pastor Ed Underwood will officiate. Memorials to: Almost Home Humane Society; www.soller-baker.com

My deepest condolences to the family of Donald E. Duncan. Although I did not know him directly, when I read his obituary, I felt that we must have crossed paths before.
He was born May 14th, 1947 in Williamson County, Illinois, and I was born May 6, 1947, in Williamson County. He was born into the Duncan family; my grandmother was Hazel Pearl Duncan, whose relatives are buried in Richardson Hill cemetary, near Mt. Vernon.
We were both Viet Nam war veterans.
