Dolores A. Klaiber

Dolores A. Klaiber, 90, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at The Forum at the Crossing in Indianapolis where she resided the past 8 years.  Dolores was born February 16, 1936, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Charles and Anna (Koning) Edwards. She graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1954 and soon thereafter worked as a secretary in Lafayette, where she earned money to purchase a new 1956 pink, Ford convertible. On November 26, 1960, she married John R. Klaiber in Lafayette. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2001. Dolores took great pride in keeping a warm, welcoming and beautifully kept home.  She was a devoted and beloved mother and grandmother, and a longtime member of St James Lutheran Church in Lafayette.

Surviving are her children, Douglas (Clare) Klaiber of Duvall, WA, Gretchen (Douglas) Krantz of Marysville, OH, Angela (Stephen) Gibson of Martinsville, IN, and Melanie (Troy) Puckett of Westfield, IN.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Jessica Krantz, Jared (Tiffany) Krantz, Andrew (Alyssa) Krantz, Samuel Krantz, Dalton Puckett, Keegan Puckett, Greta Klaiber and Emmett Klaiber as well as nine great grandchildren.

Dolores was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Plantenga.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at St. James Lutheran Church, 800 Cincinnati Street Lafayette, with Pastor David French officiating. Interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens West Lafayette, IN.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St James Lutheran Church.
