Dianna Marie (Otten) Shoaf, joined her loving husband in Heaven at 8:33am on April 6, 2026, to the greeting of “Welcome Home Baby Doll”, and the reunion was glorious.

Dianna was born, October 3, 1936, in Lafayette, IN to the Late William and Marguerite (Klaverenga) Otten.

She graduated from St Francis High School in Lafayette, IN

She was married to the love of her life Clarence on October 11, 1958, in St Boniface Catholic Church. He preceded her in death August 21, 2006.

Dianna dedicated her life to helping children learn to read as a Title 1 Reading Tutor and Teachers Aid at Elston Elementary School and Mayflower Mill Elementary School. In retirement she and Clarence enjoyed many great adventures on their Gold Wing, traveling all over the US and Canada.

She is survived by daughters, Jackie (Brad) Becker and Denise (Byron) Orndorff. Three grandchildren, Ashley (Jared) McQueary, Mitchell (Madi) Becker, and James (Patricia) Orndorff. As well as four great grandchildren, Harley Nicole Orndorff, Gracie McQueary, Ella McQueary and Micah Lee Becker. And three great-great grandchildren (mother – Harley Nicole Orndorff)

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bill Otten, her best friend, Jule’ Collins, and several beloved pets.

Visitation will be from 10:30 am until the Funeral Mass at 11:30 am on Monday, April 13, 2026, at St Lawrence Catholic Church, 1916 Meharry St. Lafayette, IN 47904. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to Natalie’s Second Chance Dog Shelter, 10 S 16th St.  Lafayette, IN 47905 or the Dr. Otis Bowen Veteran House, 2669 Cold Spring Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46222.

I miss the days when Dianna would join our monthly retiree breakfast at the Downtowner. Few of us are left and able to continue that tradition, recalling the stories of "the gas company." I remember the Gold wing cycle Clearance road to work and parked inside the garage. We almost collided one evening as I was backing my service vehicle into the dark garage and he was coming out on his cycle. May God comfort your family at this time of transition.
