Diana Lee Harris, 88, of Lafayette, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Franciscan Health Lafayette surrounded by her family.
She was born during a blizzard on January 15, 1936, in Lafayette to the late Leland C. and Helen (Collins) Hall. She was a 1954 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. On June 26, 1954, she married the love of her life and best dance partner, Ignatious Ralph Harris Jr., at St. Boniface Church in Lafayette.
Diana was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.Diana loved fashion, so it was fitting that she was asked to model in Central Catholic and other local fashion shows. She loved working in fashion and started her fashion career at Loeb’s Fashion, and ended at MJ Clothier.
Diana was the longest member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority, Alpha Delta Chapter, serving the community for over 70 years. She enjoyed playing in several Bridge Clubs and was sought after when other local clubs needed a substitute. She also enjoyed playing Dominoes and Chinese Checkers.
Diana derived much joy in bringing family together. She was an integral part of her children and grandchildren’s celebrations, events, and milestones. The reflection of Diana was one of gentleness, kindness, caring, and giving.
She is survived by her 4 daughters, Debra Hill of Brownsburg, Linda (Steve) Chidalek of Lafayette, Carla Harris-Stucky of Fishers, and Lisa (Tim) Stacey of Stockwell; 11 grandchildren, Bryan (Samantha) Hill, Aaron Hill, Adam (Candice) Hill, Daniel (Kaylie) Chidalek, Neil (Reyna) Chidalek, Nora (Mason) Chidalek, Colette (Jack Murphy) Chidalek, Spencer (Emily) Stucky, Alexa (Jennifer) Stucky, Jack Stacey, and Grant Stacey; 9 great-grandchildren, Adilynn Hill, Chloe Hill, Avery Hill Mazzie Hill, Mila Hill, Audrey Hill, Mikayla Hill, Micah Hill, and Beckham Stucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland C. and Helen Hall; and a brother, Dallas Hall.
Memorial contributions in Diana’s name may be given to Natalie’s Second Chance No Kill Shelter, 10 S. 16th St., Lafayette, IN 47905.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm with a Xeta Service and continue until time of Rosary at 6:45 pm, Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Monday, December 2, 2024, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 318 N. 9th Street, Lafayette, IN 47905.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 2122 Old Romney Road, Lafayette, IN 47909.
