Dennis L. Dewey, 76, of Lafayette, passed away November 20, 2021, at his home with his family by his side.

He was born January 23, 1945, in Lafayette to the late John F. and Ruth (Shelley) Dewey. He was a 1963 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and earned his degree in Pharmacy from Purdue University in 1968. On June 12, 1966, he married Jacqie Strawsma in Lafayette. She survives.

Dennis was a member of the Elks, Sigma Pi Fraternity, John Purdue Club, and the West Lafayette Golf and Country Club. He was an avid Purdue Sports supporter, attending as many football, basketball, and baseball games as he possibly could, he was also a huge Cubs fan.  He enjoyed antique cars and car shopping; his favorite being the Corvette. Dennis and his friends would plan trips to baseball games and combine a golf game or two into the trip. He liked to travel and really enjoyed visiting Hilton Head, Palm Springs, Hawaii, and Florida. Above all, Dennis was known and loved for his outgoing personality and larger than life sense of humor!

Along with his wife, Jacqie, he is survived by 2 children, Ryan Dewey and Amanda Dewey (Companion: Robert Spencer); all of Lafayette; 1 grandson, Joshua Dewey; brother-in-law, Ronald Strawsma of Macon, GA; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his Golden Doodle, Addie who provided comfort to Dennis and remained by his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth; and his brother, David Dewey.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service at 3:00 pm, Friday, November 26, 2021, at Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909 with Pastor Laura Bade officiating.
