Deborah L. Hargis passed away peacefully on Ash Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in Lafayette, Indiana at the age of 65.
Deb was known for her gentle spirit, her kindness, her keen sense of humor, and her faith in God. She loved Jesus Christ and had a talent for truly seeing and caring for those around her. As an RN, Deb enjoyed her time as a home care nurse and cared deeply for her patients. She had a talent for crafts and was well known for the beauty of her handmade quilts and knitted blankets. She was a wife, a mother, a friend, a pianist, a reader, a confidant, and so much more.
Deb was born in Seattle, Washington on June 14, 1960, to Patricia and Hugo Sayre. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Michael and Timothy Hargis.
She is survived by her best friend and husband of forty-six years, Donny Hargis; two daughters, Cathy Bock and Mindy Mobley; two grandchildren, Ezra Bock and Caleb Mobley; two sisters, Becky Tlucek and Virginia Westmoreland; and two brothers, Steve and Dan Sayre. She will be so greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
