David L. Sharpe, 76, of Lafayette, IN, died at 06:14 PM Saturday, October 26, 2013 at St Elizabeth East Hospital. He was born April 8, 1937, in Anderson, IN, to the late Raymond and Katherine Sharpe. He graduated from Speedway High School and served in the United States Air Force. On September 4, 1999 he married Judy Conner Fell in Gatlinburg, TN and she survives. David worked in maintenance at General Foods and Caterpillar where he retired. He was a member at Faith Church, and the Blinded Veterans Association. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, southern gospel music, and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving along with the spouse are his children, Debra Whitaker (husband Wayne) of Chalmers, Kathryn, Michael, Randy, and Robert Sharpe, Debra Fisher (husband Meredith), Doug Patterson, Delaine Eberhart (husband Jason), and Richard Fell all of Lafayette, David Patterson (wife Sheila) of Richmond, KY, and Lynnette Ramsey of Tampa, FL. Also surviving are his brothers, Donald Sharpe of Indianapolis, Ralph Sharpe (wife Gail) of Virginia, Dennis, Scott (wife Lynn), and Steve Sharpe, all of Wisconsin, his sisters, Sharon Keenan (husband Robert), and Suzanne Poglitsch also of Wisconsin. He had 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday October 30, 2013 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel with Pastor Trey Garner officiating. . Burial will be at the West Lebanon cemetery.
