David Keith “Planet” LaPlante, 67, left this world on Saturday, March 9^th. He was born in Del Rio, Texas on May 18, 1956. Due to his father being in the service, he had lived in Louisiana, North Carolina, the UK and the Philippines.

David graduated from Jefferson High School in Lafayette in 1974. He then worked at Duncan Electric/Landis and Gyr and Lafayette Venetian Blind for most of his adult life.

David was an avid gamer and an extremely talented artist. He was a huge Cubs and Boilermaker fan. David loved all of his cats through the years, but “Goofy” always held a special place in his heart.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Georgia LaPlante. He is survived by his sister, Shannon (Rick) Stetler.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date.
