David Gene Battleday, 71, of Rensselaer, IN, passed away on February 4, 2024, at Franciscan Hospital in Lafayette, IN. David was born in Rensselaer, IN on May 11, 1952, to Halden and Delores (Henderson) Battleday.

David graduated from North Newton High School in 1970. His hard work ethic and his love for the farm inspired him to dedicate his life to the agricultural industry. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time farming, as well as playing golf, boating and fishing. He loved watching and cheering on the Purdue Boilermakers. His family and friends will cherish and remember his sense of humor and wild nature.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Halden and Delores. He is survived by his daughters, Jodi (Duke) Gagnon of Morocco, IN, Nichole Battleday of Fishers, IN and Julie Battleday of Lafayette, IN, along with seven grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, and Evan Gagnon; Bryer, Lilly, Oaklynn, and Everleigh Battleday. He is also survived by three sisters; Karen (Rodney) Matsushima, Donna Dowty, and Mary (Ray) Scott.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
