Darryl R. Zackmire, 62, of Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at his home. He was born May 24, 1955, in Lafayette to the late James and Shirley McCall Zackmire. Darryl R. Zackmire, 62, of Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at his home. He was born May 24, 1955, in Lafayette to the late James and Shirley McCall Zackmire. Darryl graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1973. On August 2, 1997, he married Juanita Cunningham Spalding in Lafayette and she survives. Darryl was a truck driver for Wabash Valley Transportation for 21 years and retired in 2009. He enjoyed fishing, guns, Ham Radio and bowling.
Surviving with his wife are his step children James (Tracy) Spalding, Keith (Diena) Spalding, John Spalding, Caroline (Jamie) Schick all of Lafayette, Tammy Ellis of Otterbein, five step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters Brenda Henry, Joy (John) Greene all of Lafayette, five nephews and a niece. A private service will be held.
