Daniel Tuckey Slaughterbeck, 29, of Lafayette died Monday, May 6, 2019 at his home.
He was born January 11, 1990 in Lafayette to Charles and Lisa (Riley) Slaughterbeck and was a graduate of McCutcheon High School. Daniel loved helping people and his job history demonstrates that. He previously worked as a mentor for special needs children and adults and also worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for Spirit, Priority 1, Prompt, and Benton County Emergency Medical Services.
Daniel loved music, playing guitar, and singing. He was a comedian who could make everyone laugh with his one-liners. He enjoyed going to the beach and long boarding. He also was a movie buff, a huge Star Wars and Batman fan and he loved animals. He was great with babies and his nieces and nephews. Above all, Daniel cherished time spent with his children, family, and friends.
Along with his parents, Charles and Lisa, Daniel is survived by his 2 children, Declan and Elliott Slaughterbeck; 3 siblings, Jeremy Boyd of Mulberry, Kassandra Slaughterbeck of Lafayette, and Montana (Kristen) Slaughterbeck of Lafayette; grandparents, Norman and Sandra Riley; 5 nieces and nephews, Taylor Slaughterbeck, Charlise Slaughterbeck, Madelyn Slaughterbeck, Henry Slaughterbeck, and Shannon Boyd; several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willis and Betty Slaughterbeck.
Memorial contributions in Daniel’s name may be given to Men’s Substance Abuse Recovery Home – Home with Hope at 1001 Ferry Street, Lafayette, IN 47901 or to Mental Health America, 914 South St, Lafayette, IN 47901. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, May 10, 2019 at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette.
Services will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette.
Interment will follow at Spring Vale Cemetery, 2580 Schuyler Ave, Lafayette.
