Curtis Lee Barrick, 39, of West Lafayette, died at 7:40 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at Indiana Veterans? Home.
He was born April 2, 1970, in Anchorage, Alaska, to William W. Barrick and the late Vivian C. Brewer Barrick.
He graduated from Eastmont High School In Wenatchee , Wash. Mr. Barrick was in the Air Force from May 7, 1990, until April 24, 1992, serving with the 347th Services Squadron.
He enjoyed music and theater.
Surviving are his father, William W. Barrick (wife: Myrna) of Lafayette; three brothers, Kevin Ruggles of East Wenatchee, Wash., Dewayne Ruggles of Wenatchee and Christopher Barrick (wife: Tracy) of Houston; and a sister, Angela Rooze (husband: Randy) of Oxford.
Also surviving are his grandparents, Russell & Josephine Barrick of Lafayette. Preceded in death by his mother, Vivian C. Brewer Barrick; and grandparents, Lee & Pauline Brewer.
Visitation is from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, with service there at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. David Mills officiating. Interment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Online condolences send to www.soller-baker.com

Oh, sweet Jesus! I am so sorry. I was Curt's best friend in high school. We went to prom together. He was stationed with me at Moody Air Force Base, GA. I was one of the first people called when he went into the hospital in Georgia. I miss him terribly. I have always wanted to get over to see him, but have never been able to. I truly pray that he is in Heaven right now and that I will see him again. I am just finding this out right now and my heart is heavy.

Please know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of so many here at the Veterans&Home. May the Lord bless you with His peace, comfort and strength.

It has been a pleasure, but most of all an honor, to have served Curtis here at the Indiana Veterans& Home. He will be greatly missed but I know he has gone home and I will see him again someday. When that day comes, I will know him as he was before he became disabled. I feel he knew when someone was with him that cared and though it took a while to get use to how he responded to certain things, over the years all who took care of him soon learned how to respond to his needs. It wasn&t always easy, but Curtis seemed to understand we were all trying our best.

So sorry to read of your son&s passing. I didn&t realize you had a son at Vet&s home. I wanted you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I miss seeing everyone at the 40/8. I hope to see you when I&m back in the near future. Please take care.

bill, grandma and grandpa i truely feel your lost. i took care of curt for many years and enjoyed every one of those days. i enjoyed hearing him sing with the radio and his sweet smile and laugh. you are always in my thought and prayer. especially now with your loss.
