Clifford George McClean, 72 of Lafayette died Saturday, September 10, 2016 at his home. He was born November 28, 1943 in Lafayette to the late Clifford A. and Marjorie F. Walters McClean. On October 3, 1981 he married Carol Dalton in Frankfort and she survives. George worked as a custodian at Purdue University for 36 years and retired in 2006. He enjoyed watching home improvement shows, playing cards and spending time with family. Surviving along with his wife are his brothers Donald R. McClean (Janet) of Dayton and John D. McClean (June) of Scarborough, ME. Also surviving are nieces Rhea King, Tina McClean, Jennifer Longfellow, Kristina Dalton-Smith, Jamie and Faith Dalton, nephews Michael, Anthony, Nathaniel and Zachariah Dalton and several great nieces and nephews.A celebration of George’s life will be held at a later date. Soller-Baker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Lung Association in George’s memory.
