Clayton N. Bledsoe, 58, of West Lafayette passed away at 4:16 pm on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Franciscan Health in Lafayette after a hard-fought battle against metastatic melanoma.
He was born June 15, 1958 in Brazil, IN to Marcia A. (Bramblett) Bledsoe of Glenn Ellyn, IL and the late Ronald L. Bledsoe. Clayton graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in education. He retired from Indianapolis Public Schools as a special education teacher and compliance monitor.
His marriage was to Thomas L. Brooks Jr. and he survives.
Clayton was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Brazil and a current member of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis. He was also a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indiana Landmarks, The Royal Oak Society and Indiana Retired Teachers Association. Clayton’s love of gardening is showcased in the gardens of his house. He also loved to travel with his spouse.
Surviving along with his spouse and mother are two sisters, Mary Anne (Donald) Morgan of Alexandria, VA and Marcelyn (Kenneth) Bouton of Glenn Ellyn, IL.
A Celebration of the Life of Clayton Neal Bledsoe will be held at Indiana Landmarks Center, 1201 Central Av., Indianapolis, IN on July 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. Those wishing may contribute in Clayton’s name to either Indiana Landmarks Center or First Presbyterian Church Deacons Fund in Brazil.
